Course Information
Description General Psychology is a survey of the major psychological topics, theories and approaches to the scientific study of behavior and mental processes.

Required Assignment, Quiz and Required Exam content will come from this textbook. Lecture notes have been available in the past. I am in the process of developing new lecture notes.

2. You will be completing exams and quizzes online and recording your responses on an online test form, which you will access using the Blackboard website for your course.

4. All exam, quiz, and assignment scores will be used in calculating your course grade. No course activity scores or grades will be excluded with the exception of practice activities which will not be included in calculating your final course grade.

5. INSTRUCTOR WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING LATE OR CORRECTED ASSIGNMENTS THIS SEMESTER EXCEPT AS NOTED ELSEWHERE.

6. All work turned in for credit must be typed using correct grammar and spelling, using complete sentences.

7. Most work resulting from not following directions provided for each assignment will not be graded and will receive a zero.

8. This course will require submitting in all work using the Blackboard course website and specific assignment submission pages.

9. Plagiarism, written or oral, will result minimally in failure of the assignment (1st offense) and failure for the course grade (2nd offense).

10. All work turned in for credit must include a complete heading, including student's first and last names, course name (PSYC), course number, course section number and date the work was completed.

11. Instructor requires that all written assignments be typed.

12. Attendance or participation in class activity is expected to be completed daily and punctually by the assignment due date and due time.

13. The instructor expects that students will display mature behavior in online activities. This includes being responsible for your actions and treating your classmates, instructor and yourself with respect at all times. 

14. Failure to display mature and responsible behavior may result in your removal from the course.

15. Instructor recommends devote a minimum of 3-6 hours per week on this course's assignments.

16. Plagiarism in this class will not be tolerated. Any assignment submitted that contains plagiarism will earn an automatic zero. Further action may be taken as determined by the instructor.

17. Instructor will not be accepting late assignment submissions for  full credit this semester.

19. Instructor will not discuss your grades over the phone. If you want to discuss your grades, you may request this information using email or a live synchronous meeting using the Blackboard Ultra Collaborate meeting application.

20. The instructor will discuss non-compliance of items 1-19 and other situations which may arise on a case by case basis.

21. Students may expect written assignments to be graded within 72 hours AFTER THE DUE DATE for each assignment. 

22. Instructor will not be accepting late assignment submissions this semester, except as discussed elsewhere.

23. The following materials are officially PROHIBITED in any in-person classroom meetings for this course: food, drink, and tobacco. This policy agrees with official college policy.

24. All late assignments will be subject to the minimum late penalty end date, discussed elsewhere. 

25. Instructor will not be accepting "do-over" or corrected documents this semester because of the compressed semester time frame.

26. The instructor created the required psychology core assignment preview versions 1,2 and 3 as well as the required final version core assignment to be submitted as a series of 3 preview versions and a final version so that section errors in the preview versions may be corrected in the final version, based on feedback given on the earlier preview versions. 

27. Instructor requires that students use their LSCPA email accounts to send email messages to the instructor.

28. Required that ALL student-created  written assignments be submitted using the following file formats: doc or docx. 

29. There will be a 1-point deduction if students do not use the doc or docx file format when submitting assignments.

30. All assignment documents must be attached to their respective correct submission pages. There will be a 1-point deduction when document is not attached to specific correct submission page.


31. Required to save all written assignments in file format doc or docx.

32. No late assignments will be accepted for full credit points this semester. Please be aware of the minimum late penalty ending date listed elsewhere.

33. Instructor will be accepting NO corrected assignments for credit points this semester.

35. Point credit for late assignment work will be 1 point after the minimum late penalty ending date.
Attendance Policy Research has shown a strong positive relationship between attendance, participation and college success.

Instructor strongly recommends regular participation in this course, both mental and physical.

Participation will help you succeed in this course. 

CAUTION: Instructor  will not automatically drop your name from the class roll because you do not participate in class activities.

MAKEUP WORK: Makeup work may be completed by students who miss class because of official college activities or technical problems with Blackboard affecting all students.

Verification by means of a written message by a college official or sponsor is required to allow makeup work to be completed.
